St. Martinus University was founded in 2000 in Willemstad, Curaçao, with a single goal — to prepare qualified students for the medical profession through a focused, supportive academic environment. Our approach combines solid classroom instruction, early clinical exposure, and personalized mentorship to guide students toward their goals
The university is structured to meet the needs of international students, particularly those seeking to practice medicine in the United States and Canada. With a curriculum aligned with U.S. medical standards and faculty experienced in global medical education, students are supported from the first semester through their clinical rotations in accredited teaching hospitals.

By the end of the 19th century, there were continuous riots in Venezuela. The bishop of Mérida, Mgr. da Silva, with the help of Pastor Frie of the parish of Sta. Rosa, bought plantation Scherpenheuvel to set up a seminary to avoid the riots.
